The annoying wasp...

I was with my dad today and we were talking with with a family that he was home teaching. We were talking about a talk called The hesitant missionary, one of the topics that was shared was "Be Full of Grace". In there it states " Unfortunately, it is so easy to be disagreeable. It happens too often that we argue, belittle, and condemn." My dad pointed how how things like this can borrow down into us and it can mess with us for a long time. He likened it to a parasitic wasp that lays eggs in a live caterpillar and they live off the caterpillar until they emerge and by then the wasp as suck out all the life of the caterpillar and then it is not able to go. So it just dies as a caterpillar, You may ask so??? But when we allow things to bug us from what other people do or say, and as we spread things those anger is just like those wasps. The things that bug us may seem little but as we keep thinking about it and keep allowing those things to act on us instead of acting (verse 27) then satan draws out life out of us and if we do not clean ourselves of such things we can spiritually die.
Don't let little things that are really not important, have such a big effect on our lives. In the words of Eric Thomas, "Don't sweat the small stuff."

The Unknown Face of a Friend

I had an interesting things happen to me last night. Now before I tell this story I do not tell it to brag or anything. But I had finished up my homework and I was on my way home around 12:00 am. On my way home I saw a guy with some bags walking down the road. I had the thought to give him a ride to wherever he is going, but I kept driving on. Then I had the thought again and I pulled over and thought to myself, "what if...", "It's late what if he tries to kill me?". But a thought came to my mind from the scriptures, "If it invites you do do good, then it is of God." (paraphrased Vers 16).  So I turned around and Found the guy and asked him if he needed a ride. I gave him a ride for a few blocks and had a good talk with him.
But on my way back home I was thinking about how he was a good friend. How many times in this world do we look at someone and based a lot of think on how they are dressed? I learned that night that it is not how someone looks, but who they are inside that matters more. I hope that we can put aside looks and take time to do what is important to help and love those around us. I know if we do it that we will look at ourselves in a new light. In a light of respect and self-confidence knowing that today we can lift the burdens of somebody's load today. And by so doing that we will focus on someone else instead of us. Remembering that it does not need to be a ride it can be a simple smile, to some service like cleaning the dishes from family or friends.  :)

Learning How to Swim

I am active in my church an yesterday I was asked to talk in my church about the importance of scripture study. As I was preparing this talk a thought came to my mind. Thought I had was of how we can receive insight into our life, we often times want something all at once. But that is not how it happens. It comes to us little by little. You don't build a house all at once, you do it step by step.

Some of you may have read that I am a swim coach I coach three different age groups of kids, and the other day they were telling me how they all wanted to swim some new strokes like Butterfly and Breaststroke. But I had to explain to them that we need to keep working on the little things like kicking, and drills until we are able to do the whole stroke. I found a video to show how some of my swimmer look when they swim.

All of my swimmers want to be like Michael Phelps, but they do not understand it take time and train on the small things until you are able to be as good as that. I have seen in my life that is just how I am. I look at my life and say I want to be out of college and I want to be progressing more in my life. But as one of the church leaders in my church stated and he gave an example in this video to help us understand how we can gain insight into our lives and how it comes one step at a time.
Often time we may feel a little lost but if we take the time to turn to the higher power that we believe in and as we are doing the things that we need to be doing then he will guide us into the paths that are best for us, and they may not the paths we had in plan. But that is when the phrase "Thy will be done" comes into play. He knows what we are in need of, now we just need to trust him. That is a hard thing for me to do, but I am learning how to do.

Why

Well the other day I remembered how many blogs I did, and I thought to myself maybe I should start it up again. For all of you that don't know me, My name is Tyler(yeah a common name), I'm from Utah and I'm a college kid going to school right now. Like many kids my age I'm going through life trying to figure out what I'm suppose to do. Yep that is me, come follow me and you'll see how I am in the same boat as you. Maybe you can get some help of how to get through some stuff and you could maybe help me too.
